I ordered a custom cake from Rotari for my spouse’s birthday, including a personalized message. Unfortunately, I couldn’t select the flavor online, so I had to request pistachio and Belgian chocolate via email.
As always, the cake tasted delicious—Rotari truly stands out in Nottingham’s cake scene. However, I was a bit disappointed that the Belgian chocolate was only present in the bottom layer, and there were no pistachios at all. The chocolate was more like a solid layer at the base, and the rest felt like a plain sponge cake.
The buttercream was quite heavy and dense compared to the cake itself, which made the balance a bit off. The decoration also didn’t quite match the photo on the website—it lacked the finesse I was expecting.
That said, it was still a lovely cake and made for a sweet birthday surprise. While not perfect this time, I still trust Rotari for their overall quality.
